Festival Place put the Sing back in Basingstoke !

Following a fiercely competitive final at the Anvil Theatre this weekend, Natasha Muvey was declared Festival Place Shopping Centre’s Festival Factor winner.

More than 200 hundred joined the team from Festival Place Shopping Centre to watch the final nine Festival Factor contestants compete for the title of ‘The Voice of Basingstoke 2012’.

Natasha Mulvey who sang ‘Where do broken hearts go’, was crowned the singing sensation of Basingstoke in a unanimous vote by all five judges. She will be featured as the headlining act for both the Basingstoke Variety Show and Festival Place’s Christmas Light Switch On event.

Natasha said: "This is so amazing, it just doesn’t feel real. I feel very lucky.”

Winners of their age category Freya Collington and Tom Rampton were presented with a £25 voucher for La Tasca restaurants, £25 voucher for Dawson’s Music and a Virgin Media mobile handset worth £50.

Claire Holmes, head judge and Director of Your Rock Music Schoola said:"This night was amazing, there is so much talent here in Basingstoke. We really had a very difficult time choosing the winner, I'm so glad to be a part of this wonderful night.”

 

Theresa Chapman, Events Manager at Festival Place, said: “This year’s Festival Factor has been a fantastic success – I am so pleased we’ve been able to showcase the phenomenal local talent and really put the sing back in to Basingstoke! Every one of our finalists did a superb job. I’d like to thank everyone who helped make the event so memorable – bring on next year’s Festival Factor!”
